Having a blog means updating it regularly. Are the posts on your blog healthy, adding values to your readers, making them love it, or are they filled with jargons. If you’re the type of persons that hurriedly write posts for your blog just for AdSense purpose, because that’s what most people do, then expect zero traffic on that jargon.
Many people on the World Wide Web make use of article spinner to spin an article in different contexts but same topic. Most of this articles spinner use grammars to destroy the article. Just for an article to be straight forward, they spin and spin until it loses its structure. Words like “email marketing” when spin is something like “opt-in email marketing” or maybe “electronic mail marketing” though I might understand the meaning, some people reading your blog might not and even you that spins the article can’t be able to understand what it tries to entails.
Such practice we hinder the growth of your blog and produce very minimal traffic. So avoid it, or let me show you how.
When I say healthy blog post that your readers would love, I mean………..
1. Do know your audience
When writing this blog post, I had a purpose of instructing people on writing an effective blog post. Knowing your audience is important, so write with your visitors in mind
2. Do write what interest you and same time your audience find interesting
3. Do write about the subject.
How do you write about the subject of your post, do you start with sentence like “the post is about online dating and relationship’’? Start right away, start with something like “online dating and relationship has become a popular trend”
4. Make use of short sentences
Do you “bit around the bush” before provider the solutions, avoid it, the world-wide-web is dynamic, your visitors want to get the information in a glance, so go through your articles and cut out many Unnecessary words as possible. You can still use examples too to present a solution to your audience. That’s what I do
5. Do away with meaningless words on your blog post
this is bad practice “With this large opportunity and our superior technology, I think you’ll see that our company is well-positioned for growth.”
this is good practice “”With this large opportunity and our superior technology, you’ll see that our company is well-positioned for growth.” be straight to the point
6. Don’t abbreviate, use correct spellings.
Use Correct English or whatever language your site is written in. does this count when writing an effective Blog post? I sometimes do roll out from using correct English, I sometimes abbreviate. But it’s a bad practice, use correct spellings if you want majority of people to understand it.
7. Don’t write technical, let your articles be clean from heavy grammars, use soft words you and I can understand
8. Do make use of the “readmore” button
The World Wide Web is not a book. People don’t read sequentially. They want to select a small piece of your blog post. If they find the article interesting, they will truly click on the “readmore” button. Make long articles shot and connect it with a hyperlink to the full length article.
9. Make use of descriptive image on your post
I made use of “descriptive” and not just any image. Making use of descriptive images describe your article more better
10. Have at most 10post per page
Having at most 10page per page not only increases the loading speed, but it’s a good practice. I can’t explain why, but i do hate the habit of scrolling down a page to get more information, mostly when scrolling down the page is never-ending.
11. Avoid writing an article hurriedly just to finish in time
Most people develop the habit of hurriedly writing a post just to get it on air. Take your time, don’t be in haste. If the reason for your speed is being tired, i suggest you stop writing and get a rest. Whenever am tired, I stop writing, instead of completing the post quickly. Being in haste limits your chance of writing a winning article.
12. Do update your post regularly
People love it when visiting a blog they find fresh articles. Don’t you?
13. Date Every Blog post.
I know almost all blogs should automatically have a date of publish attach to a post, if yours don’t have, try and get one manually. Adding date, separate a new post from an old one.
15. Do ask your blog readers for feedback
You can learn from your visitors. Ask for their feedback and give them an e-mail address to reach you. It a good way to communicate with them
16. Don’t show any page under construction.
Apart from your blogs post pages that are always under construction because they Are updated (more or less) frequently, never have the word “page under construction” on all other static page on your blog. This tends to irritate your visitors and some might not even come back to that page mostly whenever they had taken it as a routine in the past to visit the page only to find that annoying word there. If the page isn’t finished, never click the publish button.
17. Do use implicit text for your links
It is a bad practice to say “facebook is a social network site. Click here to visit facebook” Instead let your links be natural part of the sentence, just leave it as “Facebook is a social network site” the underline below Facebook shows it’s a link. Avoid “click here” “click this link” they don’t tell of a good blog post. They tend to distract from the blog post.
18. Always appreciate your efforts by being the first to comment on your blog post.
This is a good practice for newly created blogs. I mostly do it on this blog.
19. Differentiate normal text to important text on a blog post.
When I say normal text, I mean your default writing format. When you need to emphasis on a particular text, you make use of a text format different from the normal format. I normally make use of bold text when emphasizing on a particular word. My headings are bold, and numbered in this blog post.
20. Let your tittle relate to your blog post. always use “eye-catching words on blog tittle
This is where I stop. When writing your text blog post, do follow the above practice and you will not only provide healthy articles worth reading that add value to your readers, but definitely get maximum traffic.
