Located in the heart of Bangkok, EM District is not only known for its upscale shopping and dining options, but also a vibrant nightlife scene with an array of stylish bars and lounges

EM District, a trio of shopping complexes in the heart of Thailand’s bustling capital, is home to hundreds of eateries and hangouts, offering a diverse range of cuisines and dining experiences, but also some excellent places for drinks. Whether you’re seeking a spot for after-dinner drinks, a trendy rooftop bar boasting panoramic views of the skyline for a night out with friends, or a cozy speakeasy serving craft cocktails, there’s something to suit every taste and occasion.

Here are three of Tatler's favourite bars in EM District:

Escape is an oasis offering a beach bar vibe in the middle of the urban jungle. With both a chilled, Bali-inspired terrace to kick back on and regular DJs and live music if you’re in a party mood, it’s like a tropical island holiday without leaving the city.

There’s a huge variety of dishes from both eastern and western cuisines, but surprisingly our go-to is the pad Thai—yes, you can eat it anywhere in Bangkok, but it always hits the spot at Escape. And while the extensive cocktail menu may be overwhelming, don’t limit yourself to the well-mixed classics; we strongly recommend the Halong Dream, a delightfully refreshing blend of lychee and pomegranate.

Escape opens every day from 5pm to midnight, with happy hour from 5pm to 7pm.

Flamenco

Flamenco brings the Latin spirit to Asia’s City of Angels, with live music, a glamorous setting and a largely South American menu.

If you don’t know where to start when it comes to food, we recommend the Churrasco Platter which offers a variety of treats: beef with chimichurri, chili garlic shrimp, sausage, tandoori chicken and garlic bread. As for drinks, stay on theme with a refreshing sangria or opt for one of the local beers.

Flamenco opens Wednesday to Saturday, from 7pm to 1am, happy hour from 7pm to 9pm.

Palm trees, cabanas and loungers by the pool: Tribe Sky Beach Club brings Mexico’s Tulum to the heart of Bangkok. Kick back under a parasol or lounge by—or in—the pool with a view of the bustling city below.

The menu is an unexpected but delicious mix of Japanese and Italian influences; think Pizza Bufala Verace, Salmon nori shells and Inca Uramaki yellowfin tuna on rice. Their signature cocktail, the Sukhumvit Side, infuses the classic gimlet with refreshing Thai flavours of mint, lemon and cucumber. Open every day from 11am to 1am.
