Do you know that whatever you feel in the morning is as a result of what you did the night before going to bed? Have you ever wake up feeling tired, stressed and just moody?
There might be some factor causing the way you feel and I have felt that way several times.
I have been able to implement 5 things before I go to bed and whenever I wake up I feel energetic, lively and brighter. And i am going to share them with you in this article.
1. Turn off All Gadgets/Electronics 1 hour Before Bed Time:-
Your smartphone as become smarter than you even to the stage of controlling you. You check every notifications that comes in, watch videos on YouTube, and check your social network sites. All this has become a habits that you don’t even know when you sleep off with your smartphone on your hand. At times you might not even sleep until 3.00 am in the morning or until your battery goes drained.
If you really want to have a good sleep and wake up happy, avoid the use of electronics at least 1 hour before sleep…
Studies has shown that bright screens could delay Bedtime.
2. Same Goes for the Alarm Clock, Turn It Off!
This is one of the reason that hinder a good sleep. I seriously hate the buzz of alarm clock waking me up in the morning. Oh! You might say because I don’t have work to go to that’s why I say turn of the alarm. Probably you are right, I don’t have were to go. I am an Entrepreneur, I work from home. My work is on the internet.
If you are like me that work from home then I suggest you turn of the alarm too. Even if you go to work in the morning, you don’t need the alarm clock turn on also. Like me, alarm or no alarm, I already have a sleep pattern. If I sleep by 10 pm I will wake up by about 7 am. If I Should sleep by 3.00 am, then I will be awake by 10.00 am. That has become my sleep habit. I will not want to sleep by 3.00 am knowing full well I have to be at work by 8.00 am.
Understanding your sleep pattern will help you avoid the buzzing noise of the alarm clock. You will wake up brighter and happier when the alarm clock isn’t there to wake you up.
However, if you feel the alarm clocks helps you wake up on time (especially if you don’t want to be late for work), then you should turn it on.
3. Don’t Eat Heavy Meal After 8 pm
I will categorize heavy meals as those Food that is hard for you to digest.
When it comes to food, I eat a lot. My families do wonder how I cope when sleeping, feeling full. I use to even cook at 2.00 am and eat same food by 3.00 am. Yeah I am a great cook too.
But there was this particular day after eating rice around 10.00 pm in the night I developed a chest pain, or should I call it heart pain. I had this crushing pain in my chest region. I have never developed this kind of pain in my entire life. I vomited, there was a little relief, all of a sudden the pain started again. I was rushed to the hospital that night. Well before I got to the hospital the pain had reduced. I was giving some medication. And I felt a little better. From that day, I made sure I don’t eat heavy meal after 8.00 pm.
Why I am telling you this is that, eating heavy meal before going to bed will not only make you feel not too good in the morning, it will also cause some serious health implications.
The moment I stopped eating late, I notice I slept better and I wake up looking brighter.
Also, Heavy meals, Alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine can disrupt sleep too, try to avoid them before bed time.
4. Read A Book
Don’t just read any kind but good books. This is something I love doing at night before bed time. I pick up a book I haven’t complete reading or any random good books. Before I finish reading it, I will have already fall asleep.
Reading a book before going to bed helps to calm the nerves by eliminating excess sound and vision stimulus. A television set has noises, flashing lights, and too many distractions during what is meant to be a quiet down time. falling asleep on top a book is relaxing.
5. Sleep On Time; Don’t Sleep Late
Have you noticed this happening to you before?
-If you sleep late and wake up early you will feel not good and you will want to sleep again because you haven’t had enough sleep yet.
-Also if you sleep late and wake up late. Let’s say you wake up around 11.00 am , you won’t feel good despite you had enough sleep. You will probably feel tired and this will affect your day, allowing you to start it feeling dull.
If you want to avoid the option of feeling as dough you haven’t got enough sleep or feeling tired out of too much sleep all because you sleep late, then you have to sleep at the right time.
It is right to sleep before 12.00 mid night.
To feel brighter, happier, energetic or whatever name you have for that thing that makes you feel great, it all depends on what you do before bed time.
