Iconic Bordallo Pinheiro partners with Esporão to create Olival, merging ceramics and olive oil heritage

In a unique collaboration, two of Portugal’s most revered institutions, Esporão Olive Estate and Bordallo Pinheiro, have launched the *Olival Collection*. This tableware line fuses the country’s celebrated olive oil tradition with its rich history of ceramic craftsmanship.

This partnership reflects the essence of Portugal’s Mediterranean heritage, drawing inspiration from the olive tree—an enduring symbol of the nation’s identity and the sun-drenched Alentejo landscape.

Each piece in the Olival Collection, from its hand-painted olive motifs to the textured white surfaces reminiscent of Alentejo’s whitewashed homes, is designed to honour the region’s artisanal roots.

The collection, which includes a platter, pitcher, salad bowl, dessert plate, cheese plate, and olive oil-tasting bowl, showcases the timeless bond between food and artistry in Portuguese culture. It also emphasises the beauty of Esporão’s olive oil, often referred to as “the gold of Alentejo.”
