Memorabilia belonging to martial arts film star Bruce Lee and other pop culture legends, including K-pop group BTS, Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson, are being exhibited in Hong Kong this month before they’re auctioned

Forty film props and personal effects belonging to the late martial artist and film star Bruce Lee are being shown at Legends in Motion, an exhibition held by Julien’s Auctions until September 27, at Pacific Place in Admiralty.

A highlight is a pair of custom-made nunchaku used by Lee in the 1972 action movie Fist of Fury, which is estimated to fetch between HK$156,000 and HK$234,000.

Other items include a custom-made wooden dummy used by Lee to practise wing chun, which he learnt from the grandmaster Ip Man; and the shorts and training gloves worn when he was filming Enter the Dragon (1973).

Lee’s items will be displayed alongside memorabilia belonging to other pop culture legends, such as the outfits worn by K-pop group BTS in the music video for Life Goes On (2020); Taylor Swift’s autographed gold, knee-high boots, which the singer-songwriter wore during her Fearless Tour in 2009 and 2010; and a signed denim jacket belonging to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, which he wore at the Bambi Awards in 2002, where he was presented with the Pop Artist of the Millennium award.

The items will be sold at an auction at Island Shangri-La on September 28, with online bidding also available. This is the first time Julien’s Auctions, a private auction house based in Beverly Hills, will host a sale in Hong Kong.
