On September 14, the city’s art and design enthusiasts flocked to Tai Kwun to hear famed architect Rem Koolhaas deliver a keynote speech. Afterwards, VIPs headed to Madame Fu to toast 10 years of Design Trust
On September 14, Design Trust marked its 10th anniversary with a memorable evening in Tai Kwun. The event, part of the Design Trialogues series, featured a keynote by Pritzker Prize-winning and Rotterdam-based architect Rem Koolhaas, on the future of design. The event celebrated the ongoing collaboration between Design Trust Futures Studio—a long-term flagship programme that makes visible the processes and positive role of design in contemporary design and production—and Harvard Graduate School of Design’s Project on the City—a research programme investigating changing urban conditions around the world.
Marisa Yiu, co-founder, lead curator and executive director of Design Trust, warmly welcomed guests and highlighted the organisation's achievements since its inception in 2007. The event also launched the inaugural Open House Hong Kong, scheduled for the following two weekends, which promises to further engage the community in exploring the city’s vibrant design landscape.
The exclusive VIP reception and private dinner at Madame Fu gathered notable figures such as Eric Schuldenfrei, Henry Steiner, Jonathan Cheung, Christine Loh and others who celebrated Design Trust’s impact on the design community over the past decade.

Yiu also announced the upcoming Design Trust Futures Studio’s fifth edition, themed Nature is Nurture is Nature. This initiative aims to foster collaborative design research in the Greater Bay Area, enhancing cultural and community connections.
The event was a testament to Design Trust’s commitment to innovation and collaboration, setting a visionary path for the future of design in Hong Kong and beyond.
