We take a look at the drivers that are ready to shine at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix

There’s excitement in the air as Singapore gears up for the hotly anticipated F1 weekend this year. Apart from the exciting entertainment line-up and after-parties, all eyes will be on the thrilling line-up of drivers on the Marina Bay circuit. Come September 20 and 21, a mix of established stars and rising talents are set to battle it out under the bright lights on Marina Bay. With its unique challenges and unpredictable nature, the race in Singapore always provides a sense of excitement for both fans at home and abroad as well as drivers.

1. Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz is a proven winner on the Singapore track, especially so after taking his win in 2023. The Spaniard’s consistency and race craft shows his determination to bounce back after his recent setback in Saudi Arabia. Sainz’s experience and ability to perform under pressure could be key factors in his quest for a second Singapore Grand Prix victory.

2. Lando Norris

Proven to be a force to be reckoned with, Lando Norris has consistently delivered strong performances on the track. With his smooth driving style and exceptional race craft, the young Briton has finished on the podium in two of the last three races at Marina Bay. Currently second in the drivers’ standings, Norris is hungry for his first victory of the season.

3. Oscar Piastri

The surprise package of the 2024 season, Oscar Piastrihas secured two victories so far. The Australian’s latest performances have propelled him into title contention and he will be eager to add to his tally at the Singapore Grand Prix. Piastri continues to impress with his exceptional car control and ability to adapt to challenging conditions.

4. Ollie Bearman

Making waves in the junior categories, Ollie Bearman was recently promoted to Formula 1 with auto racing team Haas. He made headlines with his surprise debut at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he finished seventh.

5. Franco Colapinto

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Franco Colapinto is another promising talent making waves in Formula 1. He currently races for Williams after an impressive stint in Formula 2. As he steps into the spotlight at the Singapore Grand Prix, Colapinto will aim to leverage his experience to secure valuable points for Williams.

6. Sergio Perez

While Sergio Perez had a challenging start to the 2024 season, the Mexican driver shouldn’t be underestimated. The winner of the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix, Perez knows what it takes to win on the Marina Bay track.
