Calling all shutterbugs to click, shoot and immerse themselves in HUAWEI’s XMAGE imaging technology that not only captures photos but also the emotions behind them

Can smartphone cameras ever rival professional lenses? The answer is a resounding ‘yes’ if HUAWEI’s imaging technology lenses are anything to go by.  This was proved beyond doubt at the inaugural HUAWEI XMAGE Global Exhibition, titled A Heartwarming World – 12 Years of HUAWEI Photography, which showcased the brand’s extraordinary prowess in cutting-edge imaging technology through a collection of brilliant photographs.

The exhibition debuted in Dubai on May 8 and then embarked on an international tour, covering Shanghai on May 22, and Malaysia on May 23, before landing in Hong Kong’s K11 MUSEA from July 27 to 29.

The exhibition displayed more than 200 photographs captured by HUAWEI smartphones, categorised into eight themes: The Secrets of Mother Nature, Landscapes and Spaces, A Dialogue with Animals, The Story of Life, You and Me, The Joy of Sports, The Power of Moments and The World of Youth. Each theme highlighted a different aspect of photography, spanning landscapes, portraits and sports, demonstrating HUAWEI smartphones’ versatility across diverse scenarios.

The opening event took place on July 26 and was attended by photography stalwarts such as renowned filmmaker Jazzie Sillona, architect-turned-photographer Vivien Liu and fashion photographer Natalie Dunn.

HUAWEI XMAGE : New frontier for smartphone camera

HUAWEI’s XMAGE imaging technology, established in 2022, represents a leap forward in mobile photography. It embodies the brand’s continuous breakthroughs in mobile imaging, integrating advancements across optical systems, imaging technologies and image processing. Building on this foundation, HUAWEI launched the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series in April 2023, which shows off the full potential of XMAGE technology. The flagship Huawei Pura 70 Ultra exemplifies this innovation, securing the top spot on DXOMARK Smartphone Camera Rankings by camera and setting a new benchmark for the industry.

Powered by the XMAGE imaging technology, HUAWEI' s exhibition at K11 MUSEA offered Hong Kong’s tech-savvy and creative community an exclusive glimpse into the future of mobile photography, inviting them to step beyond the realm of ordinary smartphone cameras. At the heart of the experience was the revolutionary HUAWEI Pura 70 series, a device that doesn’t just take pictures—its unprecedented clarity helps capture the emotion behind the picture too. Attendees found themselves not just observing, but participating in a visual revolution and feeling the raw power of XMAGE imaging technology at their fingertips.
