When overworked single mother Michelle Chai discovered her toddler had food allergies, her days got even harder. Since she couldn’t find any cookies free of nuts and eggs, she started making her own. Now the founder of Kintry—a portmanteau of “kindred pantry”—she sources natural ingredients and handmakes locally inspired cookies, granolas and crisps in a halal kitchen.
