William Shakespeare, known to many as the best English writer ever, and Leonardo da Vinci, who I know as the greatest super human of our time, both had limited reach during their time. How great would their audience have been if there had been the internet during their days?
How many months do you think you can travel from England to India in the 17th century? Several months. How long can you travel from England to India today? 6-12 hours right? WRONG, answer: microseconds. The loudest speaker cannot travel faster than instant messaging and social media. We can publish a book or reach a large audience in microseconds. It cannot be easier to become an entrepreneur.
In today’s world, we don’t need to blame external factors for dilly-dallying. We are living in a work where opportunities abound; we can reach the whole world with our Creativity. You have what Da Vinci didn’t have. Embrace opportunities instead of complaining. Technology is growing, all sectors are improving every day, see this as an opportunity to touch more lives follow this simple rules to get started:
1. Know that there is no perfect time:
Our soul is dynamic, we will always fond reasons to procrastinate. We want a perfect time, no detour, smooth economy, debt free government. Anytime we find opportunities let’s pursue it and forget about the perfect time fantasy.
2. Fear of criticism:
Many are afraid of criticism (what if it sucks). Criticism is normal, it makes us stronger. Shakespeare and da Vinci were also criticized. You can’t satisfy everybody every time and you can satisfy few people every time. Let your skin be tough and when you are criticized work harder.
3. Surround yourself with the right people:
This is very important for entrepreneurs. Some think they can surround themselves with everybody: dream killers, pessimist, and negative thinkers. You are the average of people you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with the right people. Whenever I’m faced with a pessimist, I walk away.
4. Your work cannot be perfect:
Some people work day and night, some years. They think they can bring out a “perfect work”, but it is not possible. I’m not saying your work should be shabby. What I’m saying that you should fight perfection.
5. It has been done before:
This has destroyed the creativity of many. Almost everything has been done before but you can do it uniquely and differently.
The world has suddenly run out of steam engine days to the days of technology. We must break our fears. The world needs us.
