Siam Paragon
A premier world-class luxury shopping destination at the heart of Thailand
When it opened in 2005, Siam Paragon was seen as revolutionary in the way it reshaped the Bangkok shopping experience; today the self-proclaimed “pride of Bangkok” remains an epicentre of modern luxury life. It’s a hotspot for locals and a bucket list destination for travellers—and with plenty of good reasons.
Once named the most Instagrammed mall in the world, this stalwart promises far more than a shopping experience. As well as the renowned international brands, world-class entertainment, attractions and dining options that have become a bare minimum are the constant flux of live concerts, product launches and fashion shows. And then, of course, there’s the in-mall aquarium: Sealife Bangkok Ocean World houses a 270-degree glass tunnel through which visitors can meander, amazed at the aquatic critters swimming seemingly all around them; there’s the chance to watch the staff feed the resident otters, seahorses, penguins and sharks; or, for surely the biggest adrenaline rush you can experience in a shopping mall until Birkins are buy-one-get-one, go scuba diving and come face to face with sharks. Tiger and leopard rather than great whites, but still.
Siam Paragon is also an unexpected haven for motor enthusiasts, with an enormous car showroom displaying all your dream cars. If your idea of downtime between shopping sprees is less petrol-headed, the stylish cinema takes it up a notch with services such as sofa bed seats and blankets; while Blue-O Rhythm & Bowl is the perfect place to chill out with a gang over a game of bowling or a serious karaoke session.
The recently opened Luxe Hall doubled the floorplan and added flagship stores for brands including Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Kwanpen, as well as welcoming Thailand’s first Loro Piana boutique. “Something for everyone” seldom rings truer—at least in terms of luxe shopping excursions—than a day at Siam Paragon.
