Dozens of the most important F&B industry leaders and tastemakers joined Tatler Dining’s panels in vetting, nominating and voting for the 20 best restaurants in Hong Kong to be featured and awarded in this year’s Tatler Dining Guide
Each edition of the Tatler Dining Guide unveils a new Tatler Dining 20 list of Hong Kong’s best restaurants, and on the 40th anniversary of our annual flagship publication, we've identified a new class of 2024—as well as expanding the category to cover 20 of Macau's finest.
This year, we have dramatically reimagined how the Tatler Dining Awards are decided upon. To begin, we have greatly broadened our panel of dining experts—consisting of industry leaders, tastemakers and prolific and highly opinionated diners—who have contributed their picks of the best restaurants they ate at in the past 12 months. Using a 100-point scoring system, where each restaurant is assigned between one to five points each, the panel is able to select a wider breadth of restaurants across the entire dining spectrum, from family-run neighbourhood spots to sky-high fine-dining, regardless of whether they have the requisite marketing budget, resulting in a more equitable representation of how our readers dine out today.
Purchase the Tatler Dining Guide at all good bookstores or online here, and check out our Guides page for more good eats.
With a renewed surge in interest in Macau's dining scene, we've also made the decision to bestow the city with its very own Top 20 list, which identifies the establishments offering something above and beyond, whether it is a significant contribution to the dining scene through their work, an undeniable sense of representing the culinary zeitgeist, or simply offering that deeper sense of irreplaceability.
Ultimately, our collection here is a snapshot of the Hong Kong dining scene at a moment in time—the beauty of a vibrant industry like the one we have here is one that should be continuously celebrated. Continue scrolling to read more about the class of 2024.

There’s storytelling, and then there’s Andō, a restaurant where tales are not simply told but savoured. Here, chef and co-founder Agustin Balbi weaves his life’s journey into a menu, steered by his Spanish and Argentine heritage, with Japanese precision. The restaurant’s third year sees it perfecting this blend, in which Balbi’s mastery and innovation show no sign of slowing down.
The service here mirrors the quality of food, with a wine programme expertly tailored by wise wine whisperer, and sommelier Carlito Chiu, featuring both hidden gems and renowned labels. This extends to Andō’s culinary collaborations, drawing in top talents from Shenzhen, Tokyo, Singapore, Brazil and beyond for events that solidify its status as one of Hong Kong’s most coveted dining destinations.
But Andō’s story isn’t just about what’s on the plate. Their partnership with charity group More Good reflects a deeper, community-focused spirit, demonstrating that this restaurant is where you partake in a story that spans continents, cultures and cuisines, each dish a page-turner in its delicious narrative.
