A new study ranked Singapore as the safest city in 2024 for travellers—find out which three other Asian cities make it to the top 10
Singapore is the world’s safest city in 2024 according to a study by Forbes Advisor looking into the most and least risky cities for tourists to travel to this year.
The study compared 60 international cities, looking into risk metrics such as those related to crime, personal security or health security and relying on data sourced from the US Department of State’s 2024 travel advisories (which is country-level) and The Economist’s Safe Cities Index 2021. A score for each city has been generated from 0 (safest) to 100 (most risky).
Apart from Singapore, Asian cities that have made it to the top 10 safest cities for tourists are Tokyo, Seoul and Osaka, whereas Karachi, Yangon, Manila and Dhaka are among the most risky. Hong Kong is the 12th safest city according to the study.
In case you missed it: Hong Kong is the world’s most ‘impossibly unaffordable’ city in 2024
