Are you enjoying your current blog now? Or thinking of abandoning it?
The world-wide-web today has become a vast land filled with abandoned blogs. Have we really asked our self why people just quit blogging for one reasons or the other? People don’t just abandon their blogs; they sure have a reason(s). From my own experience I do know some reasons why blogs get abandoned.
Some of such reasons are:
1. They don’t enjoy what they blog about?
Most people believe in blogging with the interest of others, blogging on popularly niches that people search frequently on Google, just because they want traffics and want to make money from blogging. Am not arguing it isn’t good to thinks about getting traffic and making money from a blog. But the question is, do you enjoying what you blog about. And by the way what makes you think you won’t make money by blogging on things that you find interest in. Most reasons why most people pick up blogging at the first place Is because of money. And for them to make money is blogging on topics people like.
Why do you think people won’t enjoy what you like blogging about? If locations A don’t like your blog, it doesn’t mean location B won’t. The internet today is a big vacuum with different interest.
Stop this practice, never base your blog on what interest others but on what interest you. If you start depending on blogging with the interest of others, chances are you may end up abandoning your blog if the reasons for basing your blog on others people interest fail. if you start blogging on what you like, you’re hardly going to abandon your blog.
2. They don’t have a purpose
I can bet my 2bucks, all blogs with no purpose is bound to get abandoned. You can’t just wake up one morning and start blogging. Having a purpose to blog is the only reason keeping your blog alive
3.They’re not making money from their blog
Every persons of the 21st century blog to make money. But what if you have been blogging a long time and you haven’t yet made any penny from your blog, wouldn’t that make you abandon your blog?, mostly if you started blogging just to make money. I know of a friend who has been signing up for AdSense a way back with his blog, Just because AdSense won’t accept his blog, he abandoned his blog.
If one way to make money from a blog close, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any other ways to make money from it. A blog that doesn’t make money today doesn’t mean it can’t make money tomorrow. The only reason why you won’t ever make money on your blog is if people don’t like your blog. But that’s a lie, if A doesn’t like your blog, B, C or definitely D will.
Basing your blog on money will kill your zeal to continue that blog, mostly if your desire for making money from it fails.
4. They’re not seeing traffic on their blog
If you start blogging, you definitely want traffic and off course hope to make money from it. . You won’t be happy with your blog if no one is reading and commenting. After waiting for a while and still no one is viewing your blog, you would have a rethink. Maybe you are blogging in the wrong niche. And that’s the reason why most people abandoned their blogs for a new one.
Why should not seeing traffic on your blog makes you want to abandon it? Blogs don’t just get traffic in a blow, give it some time and concentrate on doing some search engine optimizer.
5. They are not an authority
There are so many people blogging on same niche, but not all who blog on same niche will succeed. I might blog about A, you as well blog on A. But what makes your blog get more traffic than mine. We blog on same niche, but why am I having less traffic than yours. You want to know why? it’s because you are not an authority on your niche. Somebody that has been blogging on your niche for the past 2 years we have greater authority than yours. Readers of such blog we trust the owner value and judgments.
You know what it means when no one is reading your blog and trusting you value? You will be tempted to quit such blog for a new one, since maybe your former niche is not your calling. Hope you do know you can become an authority too. It takes time, but it’s better than abandoning your blog.
The above reasons are what I can think of right now. If you have any reasons that make people abandon their blogs.
please your comment is appreciated!
